The Virgin Bottle

The Virgin Bottle

Being possessive seems to be the most important characteristic of childhood, but as we grow and mature we feel it was kiddish and really it was.
I had won a Milton thermos bottle in a drawing competition, organized at Jindal Durga Committee. It was nice blue colored with a mercury coating inside. Although it does not seem so useful to me still it was a gift won.

Infact for a few days, I use to open the cover and stare at it every day, then gradually forgot. One day I returned from play and what I saw was the bottle lying on the table, I asked mom, what is she doing with it. she said that Sharma aunty had taken it for taking tea for Sumit (her son ) when he was in the hospital. I got angry that my prize and I could not use it first but someone else has used it before me. this thought really infuriated me as a child. Now if I say, that my bottle was virgin no more back then.

I laughed when I remember that moment, the silly thought of a bottle losing its virginity.
